As a bibliophile, this is embarrassing to say, but I must admit one thing: in the four years that I have lived in this city, I have never been to Milwaukee's public library. Goodness gracious me! How atrocious! What blasphemy! I know, I beat myself up about it too, but there's good reason. In truth, I've never had the chance to visit because I don't have a driving licence. I mean, I do have a license. I just can't drive a bloody car. More on that in a different post...
I live a little far from downtown, and as a commuter, it isn't always easy to pop down to the central library and spend hours and hours roaming the floors and aisles to your hearts content when you have to be home before the clocks strikes twelve. However, a few days ago, after getting lost in the city on a snowy day, I found myself at the library's steps and decided to run inside before my face froze off. These photographs are only from the entrance and lobby of the library, but my oh my, are they gorgeous indeed.
